What is Ring Size?
Ring size is a measurement used to represent the circumference (or occasionally the diameter) of jewelry and smart rings.
Ring size charts represent the sizes of rings from A to Z where A is the smallest ring size while Z is the largest ring size. Each letter shows the diameter of the ring which could be in cm or mm.
Some Jewelers have printed ring size charts and international ring size conversion charts, when any buyer wants to order the rings through an online store. However Some online stores and retail shops offer a ring sizer which is used to measure the ring size accurately.
Men and Women Ring Size
Men and women ring sizes are measured on a same scale and we can say that ring sizes are unisex. For example the circumference of 7 (American ring size) for men and women is the same.
The standard size of men’s rings are usually larger than the women ring size. Some jewelers make rings in whole number size while some make in half sizes too.

How to Resize Rings?
Rings can be resized if it is too loose or tight to wear. But keep in mind, the rings can be resized to two sizes up and down. Also all types of rings cannot be resized due to stiffness of some metal which may broke down.
When i need to resize my ring?
Generally, your engagement or wedding ring should fit comfortably on the desired finger. It should slide easily with little effort while removing it. If your ring is uncomfortably tight or if it slips off without any resistance then it requires to be resized.
Methods to Resize Rings
Different type of methods are used to resize the rings, it depends if you want to resize up or down. We always recommend professional jewelers to do the resizing process.
Methods to Increase Ring Size
The common method to increase the ring size is by stretching. Jewelers heat up the ring to soften its metal and expertly expands the circumference, which increase the ring size to half or one size larger. It depends on various factors like width of the ring, type of metal and thickness of band.
Another method to resize up is to cut the ring band from the botton and add extra metal of same kind to spread it to the required size. To ensure that the ring shows no evidence of wear and tear, soldering and polishing are necessary.
Methods to reduce Ring Size
To reduce the ring size, Jewelers reduce the ring’s circumference by adding a horseshoe-shaped metal piece to the inside of the ring band, allowing the ring to fit precisely without being too tight or too loose.
Fitting a sizing bar, a U-shaped tool, to the bottom of the ring is another way to downsize the ring. The size bar must be opened by the wearer, who then has to slide the ring onto their finger and shut it with a hasp. Check out all methods to resize the ring.
